Paul Dixon is relishing the chance to make the 'next step on the ladder' after moving from Dundee United to Huddersfield Town.
The former Scotland Under 21 international agreed a three-year deal with the Championship newcomers on Tuesday, with the contract set to start on July 1.
Dixon began his career at Dundee before moving to their city rivals Dundee United in 2008, making 145 appearances in four full seasons with the Terrors.
The 25-year-old feels he is now ready for a new challenge and is looking forward to testing himself in English football.
"When I entered the final year of my contract at Dundee United I thought to myself that this would be my fourth season at the club and that it was probably time to move on," he told the club's official website.
"I think it is a step-up from football in Scotland and I believe it is the next logical step for my career.
"I am really looking forward to starting this new challenge - playing against completely different teams and players in different stadiums week in week out."
