Werder Bremen have played down reports that the club are preparing to make a bid to sign Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-yueng.
The South Korea international's agent claimed earlier this week that Bremen, and Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen, had shown an interest in the 23-year-old.
Bremen's general manager Klaus Allofs concedes Ki is a 'very good' player, but he cooled suggestions that an offer is imminent.
"We are definitely aware of Ki Sung-yueng, he certainly is a very good player," Allofs told kicker-Sportmagazin.
"However, at this point in time, he is a non-issue and is pretty much off the agenda for our club."
Celtic have already fended off interest in Ki since the end of last season after rejecting an offer from Russian side Rubin Kazan.
Ki has previously stated that he is happy to stay with the SPL champions and that his priority is to be playing regular first-team football.
