Brighton boss finalising 'a few little things' for winger's contract

Gus Poyet remains confident that Spanish winger Vicente will sign a new contract to stay at Brighton & Hove Albion next season. Brighton pulled off a coup in the early weeks of last season by bringing in Vicente following his departure from Valencia. Though the 30-year-old struggled for fitness during the first half of the campaign, he went on to score three goals in 17 Championship appearances. He has attracted interest from other clubs, but Poyet believes that the Seagulls are close to agreeing a deal to hang on to Vicente. "I think Vicente will stay," Poyet told The Argus. "What we are trying to do is sort out a few little things that will make sure he is staying with us, in a better and happier situation with us, but I think it will happen at any time. "We are just trying to sort it out. We cannot confirm if he is going to stay or not because that's not fair. We cannot do something that isn't done but I would say it is a big chance, 90 per cent or 95 per cent that he will stay."
