Dutch club FC Utrecht claim Swansea will contact them about making a potential bid for winger Edouard Duplan.
The 29-year-old Frenchman currently has one year left on his contract at the Stadion Galgenwaard and the Premier League outfit are understood to be keen on acquiring his services in time for next season.
However, club director Wilko van Schaik claims the South Wales club have made no contact with Utrecht officials yet and is optimistic that Duplan will remain with them, unless they receive an offer which is too good to turn down.
"Swansea have not officially contacted us. But we have heard they will do that within the short term," Van Schaik told RTV Utrecht.
"He doesn't have to leave us, but we know that his contract will expire next season.
"That would mean we wouldn't be able to request a transfer fee anymore, while if we sold him now, then it would be possible."
