Giovanni Trapattoni says his Euro 2012 heartache has only made him more determined to achieve success with Republic of Ireland in the future.
The Irish bowed out of the tournament without a point after losing 2-0 to Italy in their final game, having already been beaten by Croatia and Spain.
Their performances were especially disappointing as they came to Poland and Ukraine with high hopes, and there have been suggestions that the team should now move forward with a new manager at the helm
However, Trapattoni would appear to have no intention of quitting as he contemplates Ireland's future.

"The willingness is there to come back with fresh energy and a new squad to do better, and I can't wait for the new season to start"
Giovanni Trapattoni Quotes of the week
He said: "In my life, I have had many successes and been the manager of great teams.
"I have always had the habit of winning and not losing and when I lose, I don't sleep at night. I think about if I have made mistakes.
"After the Croatia and Spain games, I would like to have immediately played the game again, but I think we played a good game against Italy tonight.
"The willingness is there to come back with fresh energy and a new squad to do better, and I can't wait for the new season to start."
