Former QPR defender Peter Ramage has set his sights on playing in the Premier League again one day as he prepares for the next step of his career.
The 28-year-old failed to make a top-flight appearance for the Hoops after making a full recovery from two long-term knee injuries.
Ramage was released by the West London outfit at the end of the season, but impressed during successful loan spells at both Crystal Palace and Birmingham.
The Newcastle-born full-back looks destined for the Championship, with several clubs interested, but Ramage has told
Sky Sports that he still has ambitions of playing at the top level.
Promotion
"It is every footballer's dream to play at the highest level and I'm no different, so I'm open to all offers, but at the same time I want to play for a club that aims to challenge for promotion.
"The Championship is one of those leagues where literally anyone can come from nowhere to finish in the top six and then anything can happen.
"I just want to play regular football and enjoy every moment of it, so as long as that happens at whichever club I'm at next season I'll be happy."
Ramage was one of eight senior professionals to be released last month, but having spent four years at QPR he insists that he leaves on good terms.
Challenge
"I wasn't too surprised to be released by QPR and to be honest it was something I have been thinking about a while now anyway.
"The chance to get a fresh challenge elsewhere and further my career has been on my mind because I don't think that I'd be the manager's first choice if I had stayed at the club next season.
"I'm getting to an age now where I want to be playing football week in week out and the thought of sitting on the sidelines there didn't really appeal to me.
"I don't leave the club with any grudges because they've been totally professional with me and I thank them for that and will look back at my time there fondly."
