Bulgarian finds prospect of Russian switch appealing

PSV Eindhoven defender Stanislav Manolev says he would be open to joining a Russian club amid speculation linking him with Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan. The Bulgaria international, who arrived at the Eredivisie club three years ago from Litex Lovech, extended his contract in Eindhoven until 2014 earlier this year. However, the 26-year-old is understood to have turned heads in the Russian top-flight and has hinted he would be keen on a move. He told Voetbal International: "I'm certainly open to the Russian league." Manolev notched up 23 Eredivisie appearances for PSV last season, scoring one goal.
