Bolton goalkeeper sad to see Jaaskelainen leave

Adam Bogdan has expressed his gratitude to Jussi Jaaskelainen, after he ended his 15-year stay at Bolton Wanderers to sign for West Ham. The Hungarian ousted his mentor from the Bolton goal at the start of the year, and proceeded to keep him out of the side with some impressive displays. His form has forced the long-serving goalkeeper to look for pastures new and he has joined his former manager Sam Allardyce at Upton Park. Ironically it means Jaaskelainen will be plying his trade in the Premier League, whilst Bogdan focuses on Championship football, after Bolton's relegation on the final day of last season but the 24-year old has nothing but praise for his predecessor.

Sad

He told the club's official website: "It's always sad when a team-mate leaves. For me, even more so given that I was fortunate enough to train with him every day, but we'll definitely stay in touch. "You can't help but learn off someone with his experience. He has taught me so much and for that I'll always have reason to thank him. "I'm sure that everyone associated with Bolton Wanderers wishes him well and thank him for his service over the last 15 years. He'll always be an absolute legend here." Bogdan is now fully focused on helping Bolton to bounce straight back to the top flight. He added: "It's going to be really tough. There are a lot of games against some very good teams. "We have to rest, train hard and start strongly. It goes without saying that we need to win games with the plan of course being promotion straight back to the Premier League."
