Germany striker claims it is early days despite brace to sink Dutch
Mario Gomez believes there is a long way to go but Germany are doing everything right after their 2-1 win over Holland in Kharkiv.
Gomez was on target with two first-half strikes for Joachim Low's men to make it back-to-back Euro 2012 wins for Germany in Group B after also beating Portugal on Saturday.
Holland did get a foothold in the game after the interval and grabbed a goal through Robin van Persie.
But it was not enough and while Gomez admitted the game proved to be a nervy affair, he was pleased to have beaten tough opposition for the second time in a matter of days.
The 26-year-old Bayern Munich striker said: "We've got six points against two world class teams, what more can you ask for?
"I'm really happy to have scored two goals and helped the team. But there's a long way to go yet until the final."
Gomez has now scored three goals at Euro 2012 and currently tops the goalscorer charts alongside Russia's Alan Dzagoev.
