Free agent poised for Loftus Road switch

Sky Sports understands that Queens Park Rangers are poised to sign Andrew Johnson on a free transfer. Johnson is looking to sort out his future after his contract with Fulham expired and a number of clubs have been linked with a summer swoop. Reading and West Ham are both believed to have been keeping tabs on the striker's progress, while his agent indicated earlier this month that a move to the UAE might be an option. But it is thought that QPR are in pole position to land Johnson and could be set to recruit the 31-year-old in the near future. QPR are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new season after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League at the end of last term. Johnson has been identified as a target and he would bring a wealth of top-flight experience, having played for Crystal Palace and Everton after starting his professional career with Birmingham. He has been at Fulham since 2008 and has also been capped by England at international level.
