AC Milan chief in Paris

AC Milan chief Adrian Galliani confirmed he is in talks with Paris Saint Germain over Thiago Silva, but insists he does not expect a quick deal. Indeed as he flew to Paris, Galliani warned that the process could be a 'long' one. But reports in France insists that a deal worth up to €50million was in the offing and could be done this week. However, Galliani said: "It will be a long negotiations process with PSG." Brazilian star Silva is also reported to be in Paris, awaiting permission from Milan to undergo a medical ahead of completing one of the biggest transfers in football history.

Not happy

One person who disagrees with the potential sale is his Milan team-mate striker Antonio Cassano. "Without Thiago Silva it would be very tough fight for winning the Champions League and the Scudetto," he said. "He is the strongest defender in the world, selling Thiago Silva is a crime, you cannot sell the best player in the world. "If the we give him away we lose 50 per cent of the our squad's value."
