Fiorentina say they are determined to keep Stevan Jovetic at the club, but have admitted they do not yet know if the striker wants to leave.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to either Juventus or Napoli this summer, after scoring 14 goals in 27 Serie A appearances during 2011/12.
But the Viola have stressed that they see him as a key member of their side, and that he is under contract for another four years.
"Our wish is to keep Jovetic," Fiorentina's sporting director Daniele Prade told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
"He is under contract with us and we want to build the team around him. The player will have to tell us whether he wants to stay or go."
Prade added that no moves are imminent, but admitted that there is plenty of time for that to change.
"We have not received any offers for any player and that includes Jovetic," he said.
"But the transfer market is open until August 31."
