Evra frustrated by England

'It felt like there were 15 bodies on the pitch', says France defender

France pair Patrice Evra and Florent Malouda were disappointed with just a point despite coming from behind to draw 1-1 with England. Samir Nasri's first-half strike cancelled out Joleon Lescott's header and while France dominated possession after the break, they struggled to break England down in the Euro 2012 Group D encounter. Evra even likened the performance of Roy Hodgson's men to that of Chelsea's memorable backs-to-the-wall effort against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League semi-final in April. The Manchester United defender said: "We are frustrated because I think we played much better but in the end it is a draw. "It felt like there were 15 bodies on the pitch at times and it was really difficult for us to find the space. "I think they played the way Chelsea did against Barcelona. "People laugh. Maybe they want England to play more football but, in the end, if they win the tournament playing like that, they will be happy."

Better

Chelsea midfielder Malouda agreed with Evra that Les Bleus had performed well but accepts that Laurent Blanc's men must now forget their opening game and prepare for the challenge of Ukraine on Friday. "A win would have been a better start but I think we played the game well," said Malouda. "We didn't have the result we expected but we're looking forward to the next one."
