Burak Yilmaz: Lazio deny a deal for the Turk is imminent

Lazio have dismissed speculation they are set to tie up a deal for Burak Yilmaz after reports in Italy suggested advanced talks were taking place.

The Turkish striker has been linked with the Serie A side, as well as Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, after scoring 33 goals in 34 games for Trabzonspor last season.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare said that the reports were wide of the mark, but stopped short of denying an interest in the 26-year-old, who has three years left to run on his contract with the Super Lig side.

Tare told the club's official website: "With regards to the negotiation with Burak Yilmaz, I would like to point out that, at this time, no meeting is scheduled with the player or with his agent."
