Ipswich manager Paul Jewell has admitted he is in no rush over signing new players this summer.
Town have only added one new addition to the squad in the shape of eighteen-year-old right-back Elliott Hewitt from Macclesfield for an undisclosed fee.
The Suffolk club have been linked with a number of players since the end of the season.
But Jewell insists he is in no rush to bring in new faces as he looks to make a significant impovement on their 15th placed finish in the Championship last campaign.
"I've been told that we're in for about 20 players over the last few weeks according to media reports," Jewell told the club's official website.
"It's that time of the year when speculation takes over. Most of the stories are wrong but we are working hard behind the scenes to get things done.
"That hard work has been going on long before the season ended in identifying our targets and we are moving forward with trying to bring players to the club.
"Not many deals get done so early in the summer though and we're in no rush anyway as it's important to get the right players on the right terms."
