Former Blackburn and West Ham defender Lucas Neill could be set for a return home in the A-League after being released by UAE club Al Jazira.
Australia captain Neill was released on Saturday after weeks of speculation over his future with the Gulf club, who also confirmed they have sacked their Brazilian coach Caio Junior.
Neill's availability will no doubt interest several A-League teams, although his wage demands could prove a stumbling block following his lucrative spell in the UAE Pro League.
The 34-year-old, who also had spells with Millwall and Everton, has already been linked with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr so his services may still come at a premium.
Neill is on international duty with Australia, and is in line to lead the side out against Denmark on Saturday night.
