James Milner is hoping to silence Manchester City team-mate Vincent Kompany by helping England to victory in their Euro 2012 warm-up friendly against Belgium on Saturday.
Belgium captain Kompany, who helped City to the Premier League title alongside Milner this season, has been taunting his English club colleagues ahead of the Wembley clash.
Milner hopes England can travel to Poland and Ukraine on a high by beating the Belgians and knows a win would subdue their skipper.
He said in The Sun: "He's been talking about it for months. It will be nice to keep him quiet."
The midfielder is anticipating a testing encounter against the Belgians, with Kompany among several Premier League players expected to be in their line-up.
He added: "It will be a tough game and Belgium are strong.
"We know quite a few of the players. It will be a test for us."
Milner's City team-mate Joe Hart knows victory over the Belgians would give England the perfect send-off ahead of their opening Group D game against France on June 11th.
The Three Lions goalkeeper said: "Every game is big. If we do well against Belgium it will put us in good stead for the France game."
