The Republic of Ireland's pre-Euro 2012 preparations have been handed a timely boost, with Shay Given and John O'Shea returning to training.
The pair were put through their paces alongside the rest of Giovanni Trapattoni's squad on Thursday.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Given had been advised to rest a knee problem following a visit to a London specialist, but is now free to step up his challenge to prove he is ready for a starting berth this summer.
O'Shea is also back in contention after shaking off an ankle problem which had caused concern prior to the selection of Ireland's 23-man European Championship squad.
Both players joined in training at the Stadio Comunale Alberto Benedetti in midweek.
Ireland are due to leave their Montecatini base at the weekend for Budapest, where they will play their final warm-up game against Hungary on Monday.
