Atletico Madrid have announced that Turkey international Emre Belozoglu is to join the club as a free agent.
The experienced midfielder has seen his contract at Fenerbahce expire and he has taken the decision to continue his career in Spain.
The 31-year-old will pen a two-year contract at Vicente Calderon once he has completed a medical.
The former Inter Milan and Newcastle enforcer will become Atletico's second signing of the summer, with a deal for Porto forward Cristian Rodriguez already wrapped up.
"Emre has everything he needs to triumph at Atletico," said Emre's fellow countryman and new club colleague Arda Turan.
"He has shown personality in taking the reins at major clubs and his experience can help us a great deal in key games."
