Joachim Low has finalised his 23-man Germany squad for Euro 2012 after dropping four players from his provisional party.
Low showed his ruthless streak as Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Anre ter Stegen was cut after he let in five goals against Switzerland in their 5-3 friendly defeat on Saturday.
Stuttgart striker Cacau failed to make the squad, as did Schalke teenager Julian Draxler, with Low decided to give them the summer off.
Midfielder Sven Bender also failed to make the final 23 as the Germany coach submitted his squad to UEFA ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
Germany have been drawn in Group B alongside Portugal, Netherlands and Denmark.
