Switzerland striker Mario Gavranovic is set to join FC Zurich after current club Schalke agreed to cancel his contract.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bundesliga rivals Mainz, who decided not to activate their option to sign him permanently.
He made just five appearances for Mainz and now has opted to return to his homeland with Zurich.
"We have agreed to dissolve the striker's contract with the Royal Blues, which was due to run until 30 June, 2013," said a statement on Schalke's official website.
Gavranovic becomes the seventh player to leave the Veltins-Arena this summer.
