Prior eyes Xmas return

AFC Wimbledon striker Jason Prior is stepping up his rehabilitation programme ahead of next season.

Prior, who suffered a double leg break against Crawley in April, is targeting a Christmas return. The 23-year-old will be working with club physio Mike Rayner on a new gym regime to rebuild his muscle strength. "It will be mainly cardiovascular exercises and hopefully in a few weeks I can do more body weight training as your muscles waste away a bit when you are out. I am hoping I will be able to walk without the crutches in a couple of weeks and start doing more work in the gym," Prior told the club's official website. "I think it is important not to just stay at home. I had lots of messages from Wimbledon fans on Twitter and through the club so I wish to thank them for their support since the injury. "I am hoping to be available to play by Christmas. Hopefully, in time, I can start scoring the goals that I was brought to the club to get."
