Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini should be fit for Italy at Euro 2012, despite leaving the field injured and in tears on Sunday.
Chiellini appeared distressed following Juve's final league game of the season at home to Atalanta at the weekend and the club has since confirmed he sustained "a tear to the right adductor".
The injury will keep the 27-year-old out of Sunday's Italian Cup final against Napoli with a Juventus statement revealing "the prognosis is about 20 days (of absence)".
That should give the Italy defender time to recover in order to keep his place in Cesare Prandelli's squad for the finals, which start on July 8th, and the coach appears willing to give him time.
"We'll wait until the last day to see if he's available," said Prandelli on Monday. "Knowing him, I know he'll do everything to be there."
Chiellini, who can operate at centre-back and left-back, is expected to be a key member of Prandelli's team this summer.
Italy play their first game at Euro 2012 against holders and world champions Spain on June 10th.
