Roberto Martinez commended his Wigan side on another outstanding season of achievement as they rounded off their term with a 3-2 win over Wolves. Emmerson Boyce scored a brilliant brace for the Latics in the final game of the season and Franco Di Santo was also on the scoresheet. Wolves had taken the lead through Matt Jarvis and Steven Fletcher scored late on but it was not enough to stop Wigan finishing the campaign with three consecutive victories. The win rounded off a wonderful end to the season which saw the Lancashire side beating some of the best teams in the land to retain their Premier League status.

Outstanding

"I thought the game was an outstanding game of football," Martinez told Sky Sports. "There were plenty of goals, it was open and I felt Wolves came here with a real good mentality and wanted to win the game. "I was very pleased in the manner we were able to cope with the expectations and we won and then a really good celebration for the fans who were influential in what we achieved again this season. "It was nice to see that chemistry between the players and the fans and use the whole game, to look back on the whole performances of the season and the real achievement of us staying in the Premier League. "Overall [we have] more points than last season and a real good second half to the campaign and a good feeling at the end of it."
