Buchanan ponders Rovers deal

Tranmere defender David Buchanan is mulling over Tranmere's new contract offer having come to the end of his initial one-year deal.

The full-back, who recently collected the Supporter's Player of the Year award, has established himself in the Rovers defence since arriving last July. "I could not have asked anything more from this season. I came in at the start not knowing too much about the club and I had to fight for my place and show I was worthy of a contract - I feel as though I've done well," he told Wirral News. "The manager has spoken to me about staying here next season. I'm going to go away and look at what they've offered and speak to my family. "If the offer is right I would like to stay at this football club, I'll make no bones about it, I have enjoyed it here. I was made to feel welcome from the start. "Hopefully I will be rewarded to be player of the season and hopefully I'll be here next season."
