Derby win set to secure permanent role for Inter coach

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has confirmed Andrea Stramaccioni will be the club's permanent manager. The 36-year-old was put in temporary charge at Inter following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri in March. Stramaccioni has since overseen an upturn in fortunes for the Italian giants, culminating in Sunday's 4-2 derby win over Milan at the San Siro. The result has sparked Moratti to hand the caretaker boss the role on a longer-term basis. "I will confirm Stramaccioni as the new permanent coach," he told Sky Sport Italia. "He has proved his class and experience in a derby that really excited me." It represents a remarkable rise to prominence for Stramaccioni, who took the reins from Ranieri just one day after guiding Inter's youngsters to victory in the inaugural NextGen series. "He is intelligent and I think he can continue," added Moratti.
