Defender feels Sunderland can get three points against Man Utd

Sunderland defender Matt Kilgallon is hoping to cap a dramatic change in fortunes by beating Manchester United in Sunday's season finale. Six months ago, the 28-year-old was frozen out of the Black Cats' first-team picture by former boss Steve Bruce and his future on Wearside looked bleak. However, he was recalled to the side by new boss Martin O'Neill for the 1-0 win over Manchester City on New Year's Day and has since established himself as a regular starter. He is now ready for the final day visit of United, who trail local rivals City on goal difference in the battle for the Premier League title. "Sunday will be huge," he told the Sunderland Echo. "It will be on TV and the fact it has gone to the last day makes it more exciting. "But we want to finish as high as we can and if we can get the three points then we could still finish 10th. "We did well in that game on New Year's Day. We got three points so why can't we do that again? It seems to suit us when teams are on top of us that we can counter."
