Sky sports understands Swindon have made a bid for Torquay's highly-rated midfielder Eunan O'Kane.
Paolo Di Canio is already building for next season having secured the League Two title with the Robins.
O'Kane finished the season with five goals and was named in the League Two Team of the Year recently.
The classy midfielder has been tracked by a string of Championship and League One clubs this season.
However, Di Canio has made the first move for the former Everton youth player and believes he can make a big impact at a higher level.
It is believed O'Kane has a £200,000 release clause in his contract.
