Chelsea duo David Luiz and Gary Cahill sat out training on Friday ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final against Liverpool.
The centre-backs, therefore, look certain to miss the Wembley showpiece as they battle to recover from hamstring injuries.
Luiz has been on the sidelines since picking up his problem in the FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham, while Cahill has been missing since the second leg of their Champions League semi-final game against Barcelona.
Manager Roberto Di Matteo admitted on Tuesday he was hopeful both would be fit for the Champions League final on 19th May, but it appears the FA Cup final will come too soon for them.
It leaves Di Matteo with a selection headache as who to partner John Terry in central defence with Branislav Ivanovic or Jose Bosingwa likely to switch from their normal right-back roles.
