Jennings primed for Iron boost

Scunthorpe striker Connor Jennings is in line for his long-awaited second start for the club in their final game of the season at Tranmere.

Iron manager Alan Knill has confirmed the 21-year-old will play some part on Saturday after being restricted to a 20-minute debut against Colchester since arriving from Stalybridge Celtic in January. Jennings missed 16 games with a broken metatarsal sustained during training but has stepped off the substitutes' bench in three of the Iron's last four matches. "It was difficult for him coming and and then getting injured so early. But you can see week by week he is getting better," Knill told the club's official website. "Now it's just a case of getting him on the pitch because we all believe that there's a very good player in there."
