Aberdeen boss Craig Brown is hopeful goalkeeper Jamie Langfield will put pen to paper on a new deal within the next 24 hours.
The 32-year-old was offered a contract extension after making a return to top team action following his recovery from a brain seizure.
Langfield - whose current deal is set to expire at the end of the season - has yet to commit to an extended stay at Pittodrie.
Brown has given the keeper another 24 hours to make a decision on the club's offer of a new deal and is confident Langfield will put pen to paper.
"Jamie Langfield has been given another 24 hours to make a decision," said Brown.
"He and [Aberdeen chief executive] Duncan Fraser are going over things now but I don't think it has anything to do with money or desire to play for Aberdeen Football Club, I think it is length of contract they are discussing which has held us up.
"I think things look favourable. Hopefully by tomorrow he will have completed negotiations."
