Asmir Begovic believes Stoke offered the perfect response to their Newcastle drubbing in holding high-flying Arsenal to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
The Potters fell well short of their best last weekend as they were swept aside by top-four chasers Newcastle at St James' Park.
They were, however, able to pick up an impressive point in their latest outing, with Arsenal frustrated once again at the Britannia Stadium.
Begovic says Stoke have made a habit of producing their best on the big occasion and feels they deserve immense credit for the determination they displayed against the Gunners.
He said: "I think we deserved a point overall. We played very well, stuck to the task very well.
"Sometimes you're most vulnerable when you score and I think that showed (as Robin van Persie cancelled out Peter Crouch's opener).
"But we took the blow on the chin and kept plugging away. Credit to the lads, our energy was at a high level.
"It's good to bounce back after last week and we'll move forwards.
"When you play the bigger teams, it's always a fantastic occasion and we seem to rise to it."
