Borussia Dortmund are reported to have given Shinji Kagawa a contract deadline amid speculation linking him to Manchester United.
The Japan international's contract expires in 2013 but the player has shown no indications of extending his stay, despite an offer to keep him at BVB until 2016 being on the table for some time.

Bild claims Kagawa has been offered an 18million euro three-year deal at Old Trafford and this has prompted Dortmund to give the 23-year-old a Monday deadline.
The Bundesliga club's president Reinhard Rauball is sceptical about the reasons for the delay.
"The fact is that he has had an offer put in front of him long ago, which raises a few doubts because up until now he hasn't reacted," said Rauball.
"It is a good offer. He won't be getting peanuts at Dortmund.
"There still hasn't been contact from another club. As far as I am concerned, nothing has been decided, although I now have a slight tendency towards scepticism."
The German champions would be inclined to sell in the summer if they cannot persuade the midfielder to extend his deal as they would otherwise risk losing the player for nothing in 2013.
That would be a costly outcome for Dortmund given Kagawa has proven a key asset, helping the club win two Bundesliga titles since joining from J-League club Cerezo Osaka for just 350,000 euros in 2010.
