Christian Poulsen is considering his future after being offered an extension to his current deal at Evian.
The Dane signed for Evian on a one-year deal after just one unhappy season at Liverpool where he made only 12 appearances - despite costing £4.5m from Juventus.
And now he is considering whether to extend his stay at the French side after the club offered him a new two-year contract. Danish champions FC Copenhagen are understood to be waiting in the wings should he reject their offer.
"We want to keep Christian Poulsen," said Evian sports director Pascal Dupraz to Tipsbladet.dk. "We have agreed an appointment with him.
"As far as I understand Christian will either stay with us or return to Denmark."
