Middlesbrough are hot on the trail of Walsall forward Emmanuel Ledesma, Sky Sports understands.
The Argentine is currently in his second spell at the Banks's Stadium after re-joining the club in March.
Ledesma is no stranger to England having spent much of the 2008-09 season on loan at Queens Park Rangers from Genoa.
Further spells in Italy followed before he joined Brighton on trial last year. Although he failed to win a move to the AMEX Stadium, he caught the eye of Walsall who offered him a deal.
After helping the Saddlers battle against relegation, he returned back to Argentina with his first ever club Defensa y Justicia.
He then moved back to Walsall in March this year and he has been hugely impressive with four goals in seven starts thus far.
Now a host of Championship clubs are understood to be tracking Ledesma - who is still only 23 - with Middlesbrough believed to be heading the chase.
