Erik Pieters: Could have played his last game for PSV after latest injury blow

Erik Pieters could have played his last game for PSV Eindhoven after picking up another foot injury which will keep him out for the rest of the domestic season.

The 23-year-old Dutch international, who was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle last summer, had just recovered from a metatarsal fracture when he sustained his latest injury in the 2-1 defeat at RKC Waalwijk on 11th April.

Pieters' foot will now be in plaster for another three weeks after being placed last weekend and he is focusing on being fit for the Euro 2012 finals.

He told the club's official website: "In three weeks we will know more.

"I will give 200 per cent to recover.

"It's very disappointing this happened. I will focus on the program the medical staff have given me."
