Brown reflects on Prior injury

Terry Brown says Jason Prior's broken leg overshadowed AFC Wimbledon's 1-1 draw at Crawley, which secured the club's League Two survival.

Prior, making only his second start for Wimbledon, had to be stretchered off in the ninth minute when midfielder Hope Akpan went in with a reckless challenge which resulted in a straight red card. A 77th-minute strike from Sammy Moore put the visitors ahead before Gary Alexander equalised four minutes later. "It was obviously a sending-off, but there was no malice about it," said Dons boss Brown. "You could hear the crack and it upset the boys a lot." Brown was delighted to secure safety but acknowledged his side have a lot of catching up to do if they want to achieve more success next season. He added: "As a club, we have not quite been in existence for 10 years so I am glad we are safe. It is an amazing achievement. (Barnet manager) Lawrie Sanchez would give his right arm to be in our position. I'm proud to be at the helm and the aim now is not just to stay in the league but be a major player in it."
