Parma midfielder McDonald Mariga is out for the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury in the midweek win over Novara.
The 24-year-old was substituted in injury time of the game at Stadio Ennio Tardini on Wednesday, an encounter Parma won 2-0 to ease their Serie A relegation fears.
Mariga, who is on loan from Inter Milan, underwent a scan on Friday morning.
The results revealed knee ligament damage, instantly ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.
The Kenya international is set to undergo surgery to repair the damage and will be sidelined for a few months.
Mariga spent the first half of the season on loan at Real Sociedad before joining Parma during the January transfer window.
