Raul's future remains uncertain as Schalke continue to hope the Spaniard will ignore the lure of a lucrative move to Qatar in the summer.
The 34-year-old Real Madrid legend has been a huge success since making a free transfer switch to Schalke in the summer of 2010.
But with the player's contract due to expire in the summer, it had been reported that Raul was set to leave Germany to accept a big-money move to Qatar.
And yet, Raul's agent Gines Carvajal insists there is more to his client's decision than mere finances.
"Raul is to make his decision in a few days' time," Carvajal told Cadena COPE radio station.
"If it were just down to cash and money, Raul would remain a Schalke player."

But Schalke chairman Clemens Tonnies has a different take on events and is hoping the club's vociferous supporters can persuade the veteran goal-getter to stay in Gelsenkirchen.
"I have not written off Raul for next season," Tonnies told Bild.
"He is aware how things are for him at Schalke - 60,000 people at Veltins-Arena love him.
"Down in Qatar he would be getting more cash. But there are just 35 Sheikhs and a few extras giving him some applause."
