Bayern Munich defender Daniel van Buyten looks set to earn a new contract with the club despite missing much of the season through injury.
The Belgium international broke his foot in January's defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach and is yet to return to full fitness.
But the 34-year-old is highly thought of at Bayern since arriving in the summer of 2006 from fellow Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
And Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes has suggested talks over a new deal are already underway.
"I think there have been talks already," Heynckes told kicker-Sportmagazin.
"There is nothing against a new deal if both parties agree a new contract.
"Daniel is a good player."
The deal being discussed is believed to be a one-year contract with the option of a further year if Van Buyten plays a requisite number of games next season.
