Fulham youngster Kerim Frei has revealed his delight at being named man of the match against West London rivals Chelsea. The 18-year-old was withdrawn after 87 minutes as the Cottagers claimed a 1-1 draw against the Champions League semi-finalists on Monday. Frei's performance demonstrated just how far he has advanced this term as Sky Sports named him as the star player in the game, and handed his bottle of champagne to captain Danny Murphy in the post-match interview. "I was delighted to hear that I was man of the match," he told the club's official website.

"My family were here to celebrate with me so I had a good evening. Danny [Murphy] came over with the champagne in the changing room and told me that I'd got it so I was very happy." Murphy enthused about the teenager's display during his interview and the Swiss youngster was humbled by such glowing words. He added: "It's great to hear your captain say such positive things about you. It is always nice when a team-mate talks you up. "I'm young so it's nice to hear positive feedback so I had to say thanks to Danny for his support."
