Canaries move level on points with Liverpool as fine form continues

Norwich boss Paul Lambert hailed his side's performance against Tottenham and believes they claimed a "deserved" victory. The Canaries chief had labelled their previous outing against Everton as the best of his reign, but was forced to reconsider after the 2-1 win at White Hart Lane. Anthony Pilkington opened the scoring for the visitors before Jermain Defoe cancelled out his strike, but Elliott Bennett sealed the shock win with a thumping drive.

Great

"I just said to them [the players] that this was a great game of football and they came here and played a great game," he told Sky Sports. "No one gave us a chance, they are playing against a far better side who are vying for Champions League football. "They have everything going for them. We came here and I felt that we deserved our victory. " Lambert insists the margin of their victory could have been greater had the referee awarded his side the penalties he felt they deserved. Ledley King appeared to pull the shirt of the in-form Grant Holt, while Emmanuel Adebayor looked like he fouled Aaron Wilbraham in the area.
Penalty
Referee Michael Oliver failed to award either, much to the disappointment of Lambert, who added: "I thought we had two stick ons- I really did. "Grant said that would not have looked out of place on a rugby field that tackle, and how he has not given that I really don't know. "The Adebayor one I don't know if it was in the box but it looked inside the box and looked like a penalty from where I was standing. How he's missed that I don't know."
