Gaston Ramirez's agent has claimed that negotiations are ongoing with a 'major' English club over the Bologna playmaker and he expects his client to be on the move this summer.
The Uruguayan joined Bologna from homeland club Penarol in 2010 and has impressed over the past couple of years with a series of eye-catching performances in Serie A.
Bologna tied him to a new long-term contract just last November but speculation has intensified that he could still be heading out to one of Europe's top teams at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old's agent, Pablo Betancourt, says there is a lot of interest but refused to confirm whether Italian rivals Napoli were among Ramirez's suitors.
Concrete offer
Betancourt has, however, indicated that it is a Premier League club that is currently in pole position to land his signature.
He told calciomercato.com: "Are Napoli interested in my client? You need to ask the clubs.
"I can tell you with certainty that there are negotiations ongoing in Buenos Aires with a major English side which is ready to buy both the 70 per cent owned by Bologna and the 30% of Penarol.
"There are other clubs interested, like Juventus, but the only concrete offer comes from England and I will soon bring it to Bologna.
"Will Ramirez leave next summer? Given the amount of clubs interested, I would say yes. "
Ramirez has previously been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
