DJ Campbell: Hoping he will not be adding a third Premier League relegation to his CV
DJ Campbell has already experienced his fair share of relegation heartbreak and is determined to avoid suffering those emotions again with Queens Park Rangers.
The striker has slipped out of the Premier League twice before, with Birmingham in 2006 and with Blackpool in 2011.
He has also tumbled out of the Championship with Leicester, so is fully aware of how sickening it can be to fall through a divisional trapdoor.
Campbell finds himself locked in another basement battle with QPR this term and is desperate to ensure that a club he has supported since he was a boy do not go the same way as his former employers.
"I've had a few relegations in my time and it's not nice," he told the Fulham Chronicle.
"It affects people right through the club, not just the playing side. It was a horrible situation to be in.
"At Birmingham we went down and straight back up the following year, so it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
"I've been promoted with Blackpool as well but the Championship is a tough league to get out of.
"We're not thinking about that and are desperate to avoid the drop."
