Gianluigi Buffon has said he would like to extend his contract at Juventus, but only for as long as he feels he is still contributing to the team.
The 34-year-old has once again been the Turin club's first choice in goal this season, starting all but two of their games in Serie A.
His current deal expires at the end of next season and, whilst an extension is on the cards, the Italian does not want to stay if he feels he is "stealing money," by not being good enough to command an automatic first-team spot.
"Would I stay for life at Juventus by extending my contract? There are all the conditions but I don't want to steal money," Buffon told

"I'll play until I stop feeling good. I still have the motivation and I am competitive at the highest level.
"Will I finish my career in America of China? Sometimes I think about it, but it all depends on what age I am and what level I am at.
"If I am still playing for the national team at 38 then I would hardly want to go abroad."
Talking to
tuttomercatoweb.com Buffon's agent Silvano Martina added: "His contract expires in 2013, we've already spoken with Juventus and we'll talk again at the end of the season.
"For now he is focused on the end of the season. The intentions of Gigi and of Juventus are clear."
