Liam Ridgewell admits it will be a blow to West Bromwich Albion if James Morrison is ruled out for several weeks with a knee injury.
Morrison suffered ligament damage during Sunday's 3-1 defeat by Newcastle United and is waiting to learn the full extent of the problem.
With full-back Steven Reid also on the sidelines, Baggies defender Ridgewell concedes it is disappointing to be without two influential players.
"Mozza is a good player and it was disappointing to see him go down like that, especially if it means he's going to be missing for a few weeks," Ridgewell told the club's official website.
"You only have to look at Reidy to see that. They are both big players for the team."
However, Ridgewell was pleased to see Shane Long back on the scoresheet against Newcastle and hopes the Republic of Ireland striker will now remain among the goals.
Ridgewell added: "We're delighted for him. It's good for him to get back to scoring and I'm sure he's pleased with that.
"I've seen him and played against him before and I know he's a good player.
"I'm sure he'll be happy with his goal and hopefully he'll score a few more before the end of the season.
"His style of play is made for the Premier League and he's a good centre-forward."
