Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has hailed the recent form of Seb Hines, who looks set to commit his future to the club.
The 23-year-old has over a year left on his current deal, but Boro are keen to secure him on a longer contract.
The highly-rated central defender is another graduate of Boro's famed academy and, after suffering injury issues earlier in his career, he has now established himself in the first team.
"We're delighted with Seb's contribution," said Mowbray.
"He's a young lad who gets on with the job, basically. He's great to work with, gives you everything he's got every game.
"Seb's still learning his trade, but I'm delighted for him that he's played so consistently over the past couple of months now and hopeful that he can see the rest of this season through and stay fit."
