Inter Milan youngster Luc Castaignos is among a host of targets Feyenoord have in mind to replace on-loan striker John Guidetti should he leave De Kuip in the summer, according to technical director Martin van Geel.
Teenage Sweden international Guidetti is expected to be on the move in the upcoming transfer window having impressed for Feyenoord this season, with reports suggesting parent club Manchester City could loan him out to a fellow Premier League side.
The Rotterdammers will no doubt feel his absence if he goes, with the 19-year-old having notched up 18 goals in just 17 starts this season.
Van Geel says the Eredivisie giants are already looking at potential replacements for the striker and has identified former Feyenoord player Castaignos as a target.
The striker, also 19, departed Rotterdam for Inter Milan last summer but has failed to make an impact in Serie A, amassing just six appearances and scoring one goal.
"Castaignos is in our thoughts," Van Geel told NUSport. "Last year we parted on good terms and I've also heard that he is not enjoying himself at Inter.
"But Luc is certainly not the only one on our list.
"During a consultation on Thursday we identified quite a few names of potential attackers we have scouted who could be available to help.
"I am therefore convinced that we can continue to grow, with or without Guidetti."
