Inter Milan sporting director Marco Branca has confirmed that they are considering a move for Udinese midfielder Mauricio Isla.
Chile international Isla has been a consistent performer for Udinese since 2007 and had been particularly impressive this season before being struck down by a serious knee injury in February.
Branca continues to follow his situation with interest, though, admitting that he is very much in Inter's thoughts as they think about who could strengthen the squad in the summer.
However, any suggestion that a deal could be agreed imminently has been played down by the Inter official.
He told La Tercera: "Mauricio Isla is a very interesting player, he's very good and he has played many seasons at a high level in the Italian Serie A.
"He is one of our main market options for next season, but we have not yet sorted a formal deal with Udinese for his move."
