Crewe forward Jordan Connerton has joined Blue Square Bet North outfit Workington on loan until the end of the season.
Connerton has only made one first-team appearance since joining the Railwaymen from Lancaster in 2010.
The 22-year-old makes the move to Cumbria following loan spells with Nantwich and Kendal.
Meanwhile, Alex assistant manager Neil Baker is bracing himself for a flurry of activity before Thursday's 5pm loan deadline.
He told Crewe Alex Player: "I switched my phone on first thing and had two texts and three missed calls. So that tells you what sort of day we will be having.
"We would like to bring in at least one player, but maybe two. We will weigh that up later, but I do know that we will be busy. It is not a question of keeping the lads on their toes, we will be looking for somebody to supplement the squad."
